  1. No Rangers cannot be in the SPL next year and should not be in SD1 either. Their cheating is very far reaching. Not only have their cheated other clubs by non-payment of taxes (ensuring they have much more money than the others) they failed to register their players correctly, hiding the fact they were paying them illegally.

    Rangers have single-handedly brought Scottish football to it’s knees by over-spending for 20 years. If you think the SPL is boring, that’s because Rangers destroyed any competition there was in it. Scottish football during the 60s through to the 80s was one of the best in Europe – regular European Cup semi-finals, European Cup wins, European Cup-Winners-Cup wins etc. It would be far more competitive now had it not been for Rangers cheating.

    Now, we find a new club, owning Ibrox but without a full team, without 3 years of audited accounts, without SFA registratoin, attempting to break the rules again, just to get ahead of everyone else.

    I say this as a Scotsman first and Celtic supporter 2nd. Rangers have destroyed Scottish football. I am prepared to allow Sevco 5088 [you cannot call them Rangers - they are not named that] to be in the 3rd division (by the way, strictly speaking they are not qualified to play there). But SPL or first division, no way. Not with the level of corruption and cheating we have seen reported from reputable sources such as the BBC and Channel 4.

    Please, take time to read;

    and understand the full extent of the cheating. Alternatively try and find a re-run of this program

    Understand that Scottish football is in the state it is because of Rangers. Without them, we can flourish, even with less money. We should be using this time to restructure our game, our leagues, and focus on developing players. That’s how it was before David Murray came in and started over-spending. That was how it was when Scotland was one of the best nations in Europe. That’s how it was when Scotland had teams who were kings of Europe.

    No To Newco!

  3. Union Berlin really were rubbish. Surprise win in LIGA BBVA for Sevilla though. Reminds me of when I won the league with them :) Also Lazio getting relegated is strange in itself

  4. Some surprises there with Vitesse and Rubin winning the Dutch and Russian leagues respectively.

    Of course the most dissappointing result is former football club Rangers winning the SPL :S

      • Yep they’ve been liquidated and look like they’ll be playing in the SFL Division 1 next season even though that’s unfair on Livingston.

        • Correct, it is completely unfair on the likes of Livingston. In fact it is unfair on the likes of Third Lanark (once the biggest team in Scotland), Airdrieonians and Gretna. All of these teams were liquidated. None of those teams were allowed even into Division 3. So why should this former football club Rangers?

          That’s where the whole proposal to put them into Division 1 is so infuriating. Technically they shouldn’t be in any league what-so-ever. That’s what the precedent is. We are bending over backwards to accomodate them in Division 3, yes despite the former club owing over £100m in debt (including to other football clubs) for some reason the SPL and SFA chiefs are trying to put them in Division 1. Their own supporters don’t even want that!
